DECIDING YOU’RE READY TO SEEK A THERAPIST IS A HUGE STEP TOWARDS IMPROVING YOUR LIFE.
I’m honoured that you’re considering including me in that process. I focus on a collaborative and directive approach to help you navigate difficulties in your life that may be holding you back.
Whether you’re experiencing relationship issues, trauma, are working through some difficult memories and experiences, or just need an open ear, I’m here to help you on your journey. You’re an individual with experiences and behaviours unique to you and you hold everything you need within you to heal and to create meaning in your life; I’ll provide the safe space and guidance for you to do so.
my approach
It’s so important to me that you feel empowered through your healing process. We’ll take a collaborative approach and check in often to make sure you feel you’re on the right path. I fully recognize that you are an individual with your own needs and that they can vary from week to week. While we need no set agenda or plan, I can provide a lot of direction and structure in session to support your work; this time is for you.
You may have heard the term “holding space” before. Holding space means creating the proper conditions for you to fully explore your experiences in a vulnerable and safe way. This is what I strive to provide my clients. My goal is to show up authentically and provide you with an environment where you can learn, and heal while feeling heard, supported, and safe.
I am a Persian, cisgender, heterosexual female, born and raised in Vancouver BC and I am a true Vancouverite. I love the city, the rain, the nature, and being bundled up on the couch with a hot coffee.
Adventure fuels me, no matter how big or small that adventure might be. I’m an avid traveller and want to experience as many different places and cultures as I can. I take every chance I can to be in nature whether it’s hiking, snowshoeing, diving, paddle boarding or camping. My favourite days are in the outdoors with my son, watching him free play and lead the adventure and love do to these activities with my family.
My husband, son and I are both mainly plant-based and I am obsessed with all animals. We try to live our lives in line with the value of reducing as much harm as possible. We have a failed service dog, Lassie, that we adopted into our family.
When I am not working, I am spending time with those who inspire and empower me, whether it’s family, my son and our friends. Meaningful relationships are everything to me, and that is why I want you to see me as an authentic human on top of who I may be as a therapist.
Meet Lassie
Lassie is my dog that can often come to session with me. Dogs are so grounding and intuitive and having her there brings so many goofy moments and smiles.
She can’t wait to meet you too!
education + training
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and believe ongoing training is extremely important. I prioritize my continued education and supervision so that I’m fully able to fully support the individual needs of clients through evidence-based approaches. My experience with various modalities and ways of working means I can adapt the way I work to each individual client's needs.
However, the trainings below are all trainings I have taken due to my passion for professional development and learning, but I do not use them in isolation of one another. I have crafted my own integrated lens, while incorporating ongoing supervision, both individual and group based, and this is not an exhaustive list of my trainings and ongoing learning
