Somatic therapy is rooted in the belief that your body is a source of wisdom and strength, and has kept you resilient through whatever has come your way.

Somatic therapies are valuable as many people don’t realize that when we go through trauma, the broca’s area of the brain can often shut down and this is connected to our ability to verbally process information.

When we try to access past trauma in therapy, the same thing occurs, which means we cannot express the experience in words and to try may not be wise. Instead, through somatic therapies, I’ll help you develop safety in your body first, rather than thinking your way through trauma. Then we will use the body’s natural wisdom to heal what was never able to be healed in the past.

This can be critical for many to truly access their past in the right way and heal both their mind and body.
